HumanaOne Health Insurance of Utah
Who is HumanaOne?
HumanaOne is one of the largest health insurance companies in the country. They are based out of Louisville, Kentucky and are one of the nation's largest publicly traded health benefits companies, with over 11 million medical members.
They offer a number of different types of plans here, and have a very large PPO network of doctors and facilities that you can choose from. Here is a list of things that sets HumanaOne apart from other providers here:
•Large National Network - Nationally, their network has 540,000 doctors and providers, over 4,000 hospitals and 60,000 pharmacies. In Utah, most doctors (unless specifically a IHC doctor) are an in network provider for Humana. That means that you have the freedom to keep your current doctor here in Utah, but also receive great treatment while travelling out of state.
•Plan Portability - Because they have a nationwide network, if you had to move out of Utah for some reason, your current coverage could go with you. That is unlike most other carriers here and is very important if you had a current health condition that you couldn't get coverage for with a new carrier. Since the coverage would travel with you, you wouldn't have to be underwritten again.
•Health Insurance Plan Variety - They offer many different types of plans to suit your needs. They offer consumer driven health plans (also know as health savings account plans or HDHP), traditional copay plans, plans that have certain limits to them but that save on monthly premiums and also what they call their Utah Basic Plan. We will go into more detail on their plans later, but they also give you the ability to add in life insurance, dental insurance and supplemental accident insurance.
Currently HumanaOne has some of the most agressively priced medical insurance plans in Utah with some of the best coverage. You will find that their plans have great preventive or wellness coverage, most times covered without meeting your deductible. On the plans that offer prescription coverage, they have possibly the strongest coverage of any provider in the state. And by being to add in dental and accident insurance, you cannot go wrong.
So let's go into some detail on the plans that they offer:
Health Savings Account (HSA) Plans
HumanaOne's HSA plans go by the names of Autograph Total and Autograph Total plus Rx. As you might infer from the names, one includes prescription coverage and the other does not. Both have an annual wellness visit, per person, covered prior to meeting your deductible and does include immunizations for children under 18. For more information on how an HSA works and if it is right for you click here at Utah HSA.
Traditional Copay Plan
HumanOne has a very good copay PPO plan that goes by the name of the Portrait Share 80. This plan offers unlimited copays for seeing your doctor and also covers wellness visits, prescriptions and lab work on first dollar coverage. That means that you don't have to meet your deductible for them to cover it and only have to pay a copay.
HumanaOne does offer some plans that have certain limitations to them that give the ability to lower your premiums. They go by the names of the Autograph Share and Monogram plans. Because of the complexity of these plans, please contact us so we can go into more detail.
•Please note that HumanaOne plans in Utah do not have maternity insurance or coverage currently.
